The school is open to any student attending grades 9-12, and living within a 50 mile radius of school headquarters, Lebanon, Ohio.

No. All you need is to submit an applicationto the WCVCS. A staff member will contact you to schedule your orientation. Please do not withdraw from your school of residence until we contact you to schedule orientation.

The school is a tuition free public school.

If your school allows such an arrangement, the Warren County Virtual Community School will work with your district school to accommodate this. Fees will apply in this situation.

Yes. The diploma awarded certifies that the student receiving it has completed all of the state and local requirements for graduation from the high school.

The more than 60 online courses that are offered by the WCVCS are offered through one of the leading vendors of online curriculums, The Learning Springs (www.the learningsprings.com). Their curriculum, Aurora Learning, is the same program that the county has used for the past several years. Other courses and curricula are constantly being evaluated, and will be added to our offering to meet the needs of our students.

Yes. Your credits are Carnegie Unit credits and are transferable to any other school, if for any reason you feel you need to withdraw. The receiving school must accept those credits, too.

Yes. Summer school courses will be offered as a way of making up credits, or taking credits in advance to get ahead. If you are enrolled at another school, make sure your school will accept any credits you earn through a summer program before you enroll. Your counselor can tell you this. Also, summer credits are not tuition free and fees apply.

Yes. Because the school is an Internet based school and curriculum, it is open 24-7. Students are required to make certain levels of progress, but are also encouraged to "get ahead of the game" and complete more than the minimum. Our counselors must approve extra coursework, to ensure that quality performance is maintained.

Yes. All armed services, colleges and universities accept a diploma from Warren County Virtual Community School.

Yes. You may take all preliminary work required to be accepted to a Career Center at the Warren County Virtual Community School.

Students complete the physical education requirement by taking an online course which guides physical education routines.

As an accredited high school, the school complies with all requirements for state testing standards, which will be administered and completed at a designated site.

Teachers are employees of the community school, and are certified in each of the subjects that they teach.

Full-time students are loaned a computer system when they enroll. There are specific conditions of usage, but the system is available as long as the student is in good standing at the WCVCS.
