Equipment Provided:
- Students will be loaned a computer that is connected to an internet based curriculum designed for each student's individual progress.
- You must have a land phone or broadband access in your home.
- You
may use another computer provided it meets the minimum specifications needed to run the necessary applications. If students elect to use their own computer, the Warren County Virtual Community School will not be responsible for any hardware problems that may be encountered.
- If there is more than one WCVCS student in the household, we will provide one computer for every two students. However, the WCVCS technical staff will work with each multiple student household to design the best technical configuration suited for their individual needs.
Services Provided:
- A dial-up Internet Service Provider (ISP) will be provided.
- Students and parents will have access to a Help Desk for technical assistance.
- Students will also have access to research tools and school personnel to assist with their academic needs.
Wireless Access Option:
- The Warren County Virtual Community School standard issue student loaner notebook computer does not employ integrated wireless networking technology. However, the computer has been configured to accept a specific wireless networking PC Card that can be used to connect to wireless broadband routers under explicit conditions.
- Any student who decides to exercise this option must provide his own PC Card and any external hardware and broadband connections required to establish this type of Internet link.
- For more details on this subject, go to the Wireless Access Information page.
